Puerto Vallarta’s entertainment calendar continues to grow this August as the Karaoke World Championships (KWC) Mexico National Finals bring some of the country’s best vocalists to the city for two nights of competition.
The event takes place August 3 and 4 at Coco Cabaret in the Romantic Zone, where singers from across Mexico will compete for the chance to represent the country at the 2026 Karaoke World Championships World Finals in Las Vegas. For locals and visitors looking for things to do in Puerto Vallarta, the competition offers two evenings of live music and standout performances.
Founded in Finland in 2003, the Karaoke World Championships has become the world's largest international karaoke competition, with participants from dozens of countries. Contestants advance through regional qualifying rounds before earning a spot in their national finals, where one winner moves on to the global championship.
Puerto Vallarta will have hometown favorites in the spotlight as Patriz Fomitchev and Losanna Diaz Avila compete for the national title.
Patriz, a Vancouver native who began performing in Puerto Vallarta as a teenager, has become a familiar face on local stages. She is best known for her acclaimed Amy Winehouse tribute, along with appearances in theatrical productions and cabaret shows throughout the city.
Losanna first gained national recognition as a contestant on La Voz México and has built a strong following in Puerto Vallarta through tribute performances celebrating Jennifer Lopez, Selena Quintanilla, and Christina Aguilera. She has also appeared in productions at Teatro Vallarta and Coco Cabaret.
Hosting the national finals further highlights Puerto Vallarta's growing reputation as one of Mexico's premier destinations for live entertainment.
